21 December 2018: Eden Australia

Our day in Sydney turned out to be a lovely warm day and spent the day walking about in the city and visiting all sorts of beautiful shops.Hubby was working so has lots of time to look around. After walking about for 5 hours I had had enough and was time to get back to ship.

Must have overdone things for I was pooped and went straight to bed for a afternoon sleep! The weather forecast had been correct and woke up to a huge thunderstorm in progress over this beautiful city!Dit was donderweer en blitse net waar jy kyk.

So left Sydney in this thunderstorm,in pouring rain! The Opera house and Sydney bridge just looked so different from a perfect blue sky look..So the different faces of a city for sure.

This morning we arrived in Eden a small town and had to use the tender boat again but the weather was not looking good at all.Left the ship to arrive on the dockside in pouring rain, with no real shelter, so my feet were sopping wet pretty quickly .

Decided to grin and bear it for my feet were wet already so out came the umbrella and poncho and off I went to see what this place had to offer.I first ended up in a residencial area overlooking the sea from the rescue centre, and had to walk up a steep hill so was huffing and puffing when I got to the top.
Now I am hot and sweating with this plastic poncho,so now it is time to get undressed and what a story while it is raining.Nie n lekker storie nie,jy voel asof jy geknoop raak tussen sambrieel, plastiek en rugsak!!! Nie genoeg hande nie.

Then I decided to walk into town and see what it looks like, did not want to take the shuttle bus for I like to see everthing and not miss a thing, with the bus it all goes by to quickly, little did I know another hill was waiting for me!!

I would call it a small town with very old buildings when I saw the court house and the police station, which are heritage buildings, klein dorpie gevoel..Fishing seems to be big business.

On my way back to the ship I was told by other passengers about there visit to the golfing course where they saw plenty of kangeroo hopping all over the place.Ai was so spyt het nie van dit geweet nie anders sou ek beslis by dit n draai gemaak het en ongelukkig kom ons nie weer die kant toe nie,so missed the bus!!

More is ons weer in Burnie en ek wil kyk of ek nie by een van die mooi tuine kan uitkom nie.Plan is to walk to the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden,is about a hours walk from the ship area so will see,if it is a nice day I am going to give it a go,hope I find my way back to town.
