5 Januarie 2019: Sydney
We had a lovely day
in a very hot and humid Sydney!! They said it was 38 degrees and walking around
in that kind of heat, not so funny. First the customs decided that it was time
to check us all out after leaving the ship so that did not go down so well ,
for the week before we just got off without any customs checks!
Then hubby joined me for his day off.Our first stop was the
lobby of a hotel for wi-fi and some cool air. After that we walked through the
botanical gardens, past the Opera house and then we walked across the famous
Sydney Bridge to the other side of the city.
When we got to the other side of the bridge we were really
sweating looked like we had done a marathon!Luckely one of hubbys nurses told
him about the olympic swimming pool at Luna Park and that was what we headed
for,a cool down session in the pool.
Looks like our old time municipality pools, that you use to
get in most towns, the dressing rooms real old school, under the pavilion.Young
and old were there for we were in town on a Saturday,so was really good to just
cool down before we made the trip back again.
The local market was in full swing in downtown but first we stopped at an old
hotel for fish & chips and some COLD beer. The beers we downed very quickly
and I was so thristy nearly finished off hubbys first beer before he got to our
table ,for he went to order our fish and chips!! Needless to say, that did not
go down well
So gelag vir hom ,hy se hy kan glo dat mense oor drank kan
baklei!!! Ergste van alles ek drink nie eers gewoonlik bier nie maar dis wat
dors aan jou doen, haaa haaa .So 4 beers later we felt a lot better bellys full and were ready for a walkabout at
the market
Hubby was ready for a lie down on the grass under the Sydney
bridge, so I left him there with his music and went walking about on my own.
Stalletjies net waar jy kyk met alles en nog wat en heerlike
kos geure.Just a pity only open on a Saturday so we miss the next one, but just
one of those things.
Late afternoon we were back on the ship and just in time
before the thunder storms hit Sydney and the rain came pouring down.We left
Sydney in another thunderstorm and rain. This cruise we are doing ,a new route.
First stop is Noumea New Caladonia a French Island, then 2
more little islands, Ile des Pins and Lifou, in the Pacific ocean, Tonga, Fiji en Hahiti se rigting. There was a
tropical storm somewhere around there so just hope we stay out of its way.
On our way back we visit Yorkeys Knob Cairns Australia and
Arlie Beach Australia and last stop is Brisbane. The Great Barrier Reef as an
option on the excurtion list but I have decided to rather try the mud pools and
Maori exsperience in New Zealand. Decisions ,decisions just wish could do
everthing!! Maar dit werk mos nou nie so nie.The Great Barrier Reef visit kos
Miskien is
dit huis toe verlang koors.
